St. Antonius Hospital in Nieuwegein merged with Mesos Medisch Centrum in Utrecht in 2008, and the two medical institutions continued under the name St. Antonius Hospital. A leading teaching hospital with a strong focus on person-centred care, St. Antonius Hospital offers high-quality basic and specialist healthcare, boasting special expertise in areas such as heart and lung disease, oncology and surgery. Innovation, research, training and intensive collaboration with healthcare partners are central.

As a strategic branding partner, we were brought in during the merger to build a brand policy, verbal identity, visual identity, and various online and offline communication tools. Given the merger context, the approach was primarily focused on bringing together insights and solutions, whereby ambitions were high.

Ambitions had to be high, because St. Antonius Hospital is one of the Netherlands’ 27 collaborating highly specialist teaching hospitals and had set out to become a leader within this group.
